A 19-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto and four other people were reported at large following an anti-drug operation conducted by the Carabinieri in Macomer, which led to the seizure of 180 grams of hashish and 7 grams of cocaine.

The investigation began with several local patrol services. During their patrols, the officers noticed an unusual movement of people near some vending machines in the city.

Subsequent investigations revealed how the dealers left the drug doses on top of the vending machines, where buyers could collect them without direct contact.

The images from the video surveillance systems present in the premises allowed us to reconstruct the methods of sale, aimed mainly at young people, and to identify those responsible, against whom personal and house search warrants were issued.

During the checks, officers arrested the 19-year-old red-handed, finding him in possession of 80 grams of hashish, 7 grams of cocaine, and €560 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. Four other young men—whose responsibilities were documented through video recordings—were investigated at large.

The arrest was validated in this morning's fast-track hearing: the nineteen-year-old was subjected to a mandatory sign-in procedure.
