Cagliari firefighters battled for hours to put out the flames that broke out inside the warehouse of a West Recycling metal recovery plant in the Macchiareddu area of Uta.

From 1 a.m. on Thursday morning to Friday, the 118 emergency services teams were engaged in firefighting operations: two teams intervened from the Viale Marconi headquarters with the support of three fire trucks, a foam truck, self-contained breathing apparatus vans, a ladder truck, and even a high-capacity water tanker.
After the flames were extinguished, firefighters began operations to extinguish the remaining fires and carry out cleanup.

Investigations will then follow to determine the origin of the flames.
