The thirty-five year old from Capoterra was hit on the Quartu seafront after an alcohol challenge between two groups of boysThe Court of Assizes of Cagliari has sentenced Alessio Desogus, 23 years old from Flumini di Quartu, to 16 years and eight months, accused of having killed Luca Mameli, 35 years old from Capoterra, stabbed on the Poetto seafront in Quartu on 9 August 2023 after a competition to see who could drink the most between two groups of young people who had left a disco at dawn, and who died shortly after being taken to hospital.
The court presided over by judge Lucia Perra excluded the aggravating circumstance of futile motives, thus granting the defendant readmission to the abbreviated trial which allows for a reduction of one third of the sentence.
