A 32-year-old German woman living in Bastia Umbra was sentenced to six years in prison for an incident that occurred in Azzanì, a hamlet of Loiri, on April 3, 2019. She was found guilty of drugging and robbing an 86-year-old pensioner.
Tempio Magistrate Federica Di Stefano ruled, upholding the requests of prosecutor Alessandro Bosco. The alleged perpetrator of the robbery allegedly dined at the victim's home and, after pouring a sleeping pill into the elderly man's glass, stole money and jewelry.
The woman knew the pensioner and had reportedly traveled to Gallura several times for work. Carabinieri from the Loiri Porto San Paolo station tracked her down in Bastia Umbra, where the young German woman had fled. She was also with a man on the run, whom the police identified and reported to the Tempio Prosecutor's Office.
