The 100th anniversary celebration was held today in the municipal gym, on the green parquet floor where athletes enjoy themselves. Ermelinda Garau is the new centenarian of Loceri, where she was born on May 15, 1926. Ermelinda Garau, a long-widowed woman, grew up in a farming family and was the eldest of six children. Together with her husband, a bricklayer, she built a family of three children, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren with sacrifice and dedication. A strong and tireless woman, she continued to devote herself to the garden until a few years ago, maintaining great clarity and vitality to this day.
The celebration was attended not only by the ACR children but also by Mayor Gianfranco Lecca and Tourism Councilor Enrico Pistis, who presented Grandma Ermelinda with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the entire community. The community, along with Grandma Ermelinda and her family, shared this important milestone with affection and gratitude, as a testament to a generation that has spanned a century of history, preserving the values of family, work, and solidarity. Everyone gathered around the centenarian, who celebrated with a huge cake prepared by a catering company in Tortolì.
