A Gulfstream G-650 from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force , based in Rome Ciampino, was used yesterday evening to carry out a lifesaving flight, authorized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers which manages and coordinates the activities of the fleet of state aircraft, from Cagliari to Venice for a 50-year-old Italian woman who needed to be urgently transferred from the Brotzu hospital in the Sardinian capital to the University Hospital of Padua.
The patient, who boarded the aircraft at the Sardinian airport, was then assisted during the flight by a medical team. Upon arrival at the Venice airport, the woman was then entrusted to the care of on-site paramedics and transferred by ambulance to the hospital.
