A project that will start in Pozzomaggiore on January 25th, and that sees professionals spreading knowledge among parents about the life-saving maneuvers to be implemented in the event of suffocation from a foreign body, one of the main causes of death in children from 0 to 3 years.
"Accidents can happen anywhere - at home, at school, at a restaurant - but the important thing is not to be caught unprepared, those who are present must act immediately and in the best way possible", explains Roberto Pietri, director of the Consultations of the ASL of Sassari. "For this reason it is necessary to spread, especially among parents, the knowledge of these important maneuvers that can help us save our children , while waiting for the arrival of health workers. During the day, in addition to the theory, practice will be done on mannequins that will help parents understand how to implement the various maneuvers", added pediatrician Daniela Ticca.
The appointment is set for Saturday, January 25, from 10 to 12, in the premises of the Social Center, in via Mercato, in Pozzomaggiore. During the course, these two maneuvers will be illustrated and practice will be done on dummies so as to transfer knowledge to parents of what maneuvers to implement, while waiting for the arrival of rescuers. In fact, it is remembered that the child must be taken to the nearest hospital even if the symptoms apparently seem to improve.
