Not a single killer , but a gang of robbers who first set a trap for the two young men and then promptly killed them to make off with their money and escape. Increasingly disturbing details are emerging surrounding the attack that cost the life of Leonardo Mocci, the 23-year-old bricklayer from Villacidro killed on the night between Wednesday and Thursday in Monserrato.

He had gone to Piazza Settimio Severo to accompany a friend who was afraid to go alone to a meeting to close a deal, but both were reportedly trapped by robbers who appeared out of nowhere with their faces covered . Meanwhile, the Carabinieri Investigative Unit is continuing its investigation in secret, coordinated by prosecutors Enrico Lussu and Diana Lecca: apparently, they are no longer looking for a lone killer who killed at the end of an argument, but a veritable gang of robbers and murderers , complete with accomplices and insiders.

Investigative circles remain tight-lipped, abiding by the order of silence imposed by the Prosecutor's Office. However, the fact remains that, after the crime, numerous young people were summoned to the police station on Via Nuoro in Cagliari as persons with information about the facts (twelve were subjected to the stub test, the so-called paraffin glove used to test for gunshot residue), and many, it seems, appeared for questioning accompanied by lawyers. The case, opened on the suspicion of voluntary manslaughter, remains against unknown persons, but by Thursday evening the feeling was that investigators already had a clear understanding of what happened.
