The Ministry of Culture has said yes. A favorable opinion has been filed for the project for the gigantic offshore wind farm, Ichnusa Wind Power, off the southwest coast of Sardinia: 42 285-meter-tall turbines, spread across approximately 116 square kilometers of sea facing Capo Altano, Fontanamare, Porto Paglia, and not far from Porto Flavia and Buggerru.

The floating turbines (the company is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Eni) are 36 to 42 kilometers from the coast but, if built, will be visible from land. The proposing company has stated this, including photosimulations. The MIC's special technical commission for the NRRP has acknowledged the development and has given its approval, but has imposed requirements specifically related to the impact on the landscape.

The technicians are requesting "a landscape-perceptual mitigation plan, including color solutions, anti-reflection treatments, surface finishes, and measures to reduce the visual contrast of the wind turbines." But the most difficult approval has already arrived. All that's missing is the final approval from the ministerial commission, which, at this point, may not encounter any major obstacles.
