Firefighters from the Cagliari Fire Department responded to a large fire that broke out in an area of the Molentargius municipal road and Via Don Giordi in Quartu Sant'Elena. Emergency response teams from the Fire Department responded to the scene with off-road vehicles equipped with fire-prevention modules to contain and extinguish the flames, which were spreading on two fronts.
The firefighters' response lasted several hours due to the difficult terrain and perimeter fences. Remediation and extinguishing procedures were then initiated to control the remaining fires. The entire area was secured.
Other interventions were carried out during the night for other fires in the Cagliari hinterland by the Fire Brigade teams from the Command Operations Center in Monserrato, near the countryside adjacent to Provincial Road 8 and in the countryside adjacent to State Road 554.
