The blades will certainly be a "visual disturbance." But "the paradigm of vision must change." Those metal giants embedded in the Sardinian landscape must be seen as a "recognizable symbol of environmental sustainability." Not as an affront. Even though they are 255 meters tall, there could be 38 in total : that's the sum of the rotors that the company Ame Energy Srl, based on Corso Magenta in Milan, wants to install on the mountains and hills between Buddusò and Pattada . Two distinct projects. One is in an advanced stage, with 12 wind turbines, presented in 2024. The other, in the form of an environmental impact assessment application, was filed last May: in this case, there are 26 turbines.
The two plants, if approved, would have a combined capacity of nearly 251 MW, approximately 6.6 for each blade. Each turbine, it is stated, will have "a tower height of 135 meters at the hub and a rotor diameter of 170 meters, with a single blade length of 85 meters, and a three-bladed propeller."
