The Abbacurrente pine forest has been transformed into a landfill, with dozens of bags of garbage strewn across the green space along the stretch of coast between Platamona and Porto Torres. Photos and images are provided by the Instagram page "Pedalandoinsardegna," managed by Alessandro Cossu. The videos show piles of all sorts of waste, poking through the vegetation and visible on the road just steps from the beaches. Landfills that blight the landscape, crimes committed by those who violate rules and prohibitions aimed at protecting the environment.

A grim picture and a terrible image for those who use the area. The landfills contain everything from old air conditioners to plastic, from construction waste to glass bottles, abandoned without any civic duty in an area that is also sensitive to animals. This is despite the ongoing efforts of Pastic Free, which employs volunteers to clean up the area near the sea, an awareness campaign aimed at protecting the environment.
