Labrador trapped in the Molentargius canal: rescued by Forestry Police, now looking for a home.

He had become trapped in the seawater inlet canal within the Molentargius Regional Natural Park , in the Bellarosa Maggiore area. The dog, a medium-sized Labrador Retriever, was rescued by the Cagliari Forestry Station after a report from Park Authority officials.
Arriving on site with a net and ropes, the Forestry and Environmental Protection Corps officers found the animal in difficulty, with movement problems in its hind legs , probably caused by prolonged contact with the cold water .
After being recovered, the dog was transported to the Forestry Corps headquarters in Molentargius for a microchip scan, which returned a negative result. The Local Health Authority Veterinary Service was then contacted, which arranged for the animal to be placed at the Dog Hotel in Chinarello, pending adoption.
