Yet another act of vandalism against a worker at the La Maddalena Park Authority. Last Saturday, someone scratched the word "No" on the car of a researcher from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Sassari, who is involved in the biennial monitoring of pollinating insects for the Authority.
The car was parked legally when it was damaged. The researcher immediately reported the incident to the Forestry Police, and investigations to identify those responsible are currently underway.
This is not an isolated incident: near Poggio Rasu, another act of vandalism occurred against a camera trap installed by the Park Authority for scientific monitoring and wildlife protection.
"These acts are no longer tolerable. They aren't just material damage, but direct attacks on those who work to understand and protect our ecosystem," said President Emanuela Rio.
In response to this escalation of incivility, the Park Authority has intensified its patrols in the area in collaboration with law enforcement. "These incidents are detrimental to the entire community and will not stop the research and conservation efforts necessary to protect the Park," Rio concludes.
