Alarm was raised yesterday evening aboard a vessel transiting the Strait of Bonifacio . The emergency was triggered around 7:15 PM, when the Operations Room of the Port Authority of La Maddalena received a request for assistance from the motor vessel "Tony Stark," carrying a 41-year-old Filipino sailor who required urgent medical attention.

Following a consultation with the CIRM – International Radio-Medical Center, which ordered immediate hospitalization, the Coast Guard sent the CP 306 rescue vessel to the scene to transfer the 41-year-old.

After the patrol boat returned to port in La Maddalena, the man was entrusted to the care of 118 medical personnel and transferred to the hospital's emergency room for checks and necessary treatment.
