Does an act of remorse by a young person who has committed an act of vandalism make more news than the act of vandalism itself or other acts of vandalism committed on other days?

Let's start by reporting that, as the City Council wrote, "after realizing his mistake, a young man expressed a desire to apologize and expressed his willingness to make amends for the damage done, demonstrating that he understood the message and took responsibility for his actions."

What happened? Around 11:30 PM two days ago, the municipal administration writes, a group of kids on scooters, having parked in the Moneta Elementary School parking lot near the new Street Basketball court, allegedly misused smoke bombs, causing a nighttime uproar, and also vandalized a street sign.

The next day, however, one of the boys took responsibility, and some parents "contacted the authorities and formally committed to organizing a meeting with all the boys. Our task," the Municipality states, "is to guide the boys in understanding the importance of their actions and the consequences they may have on the community."

Also because a few days earlier, the same municipality had posted a photo of the sink in the disabled restrooms at the new Barabò Inclusive Playground, which had already been closed several times due to damage : "Someone probably hung from it, thinking it was a toy, and broke it," the municipality wrote. "Obviously, cameras in the restrooms aren't allowed, but with a little more care and education, trying to treat public property as if it were our own, these things could be avoided."

Not even 10 days earlier, the municipal administration wrote that it had to intervene in the same playground, to remove some torn plastic parts and to add a black anti-trauma sheath: "The sheath has already been removed and thrown away!"
