From today until November 25, 2026, the city welcomes seven monumental sculptures by the internationally renowned Japanese artist Kan Yasuda . The works, in white Carrara marble and bronze, are positioned outdoors between the Via Roma dock, the Delogu dock, and the Dogana pier. They are freely accessible to the public, interacting with the works of Costantino Nivola, an artist Yasuda knew and admired, installed on Via Roma under the porticoes of the Regional Council.

"The sea, the city, and art meet, thanks to the culture and ongoing redevelopment projects that are giving citizens further international visibility and the opportunity to enjoy public spaces," declared Mayor Massimo Zedda .

" The preliminary regattas for the America's Cup have demonstrated the potential of a waterfront that extends from the port to Giorgino, from Su Siccu to Sant'Elia. This waterfront has never been more the focus of urban regeneration than it is today. This will benefit the local economy and tourism, fostering new businesses and career opportunities, and becoming an attraction for services such as shipbuilding, recreational boating, and major international events."

The initiative, strongly supported by the Fondazione di Sardegna, which carefully supports art and culture in Sardinia, is being carried out by the experimental ArtiJanus/ArtiJanas project, with the Municipality of Cagliari and the collaboration of the Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, "which is giving ever greater impetus to the historic port," concludes the mayor .
