It was a morning to forget for passengers at Alghero Airport who were scheduled to fly to Milan. The 8:55 a.m. flight to Linate today, May 13, operated by ITA Airways, was cancelled without notice for unspecified technical reasons.

Several reports of citizens stranded have been rescheduled for the 9:40 PM evening flight . This solution is clearly insufficient for those with business appointments or medical appointments, and it raises new and further questions about the viability of the transport system and air traffic continuity. This is especially true for Fertilia airport, the least attractive for airlines: the tender for the Alghero-Milan route was unsuccessful, and ITA is operating under an extension.

"Yet another episode that demonstrates the fragility of continuity of travel to and from Alghero," commented the citizens' coordination of the Brothers of Italy party. "When a continuity flight is canceled at the last minute, those who pay the price are citizens who need to travel for medical appointments, work, study, or urgent commitments."

An inconvenience that rescheduling a flight departing 13 hours later certainly doesn't erase: "For many, it means missing medical appointments, subsequent connections, and entire days ."

And Giorgia Meloni's party raises the issue: "We have long been denouncing that Alghero is penalized by a rigid and insufficient model. Neither the Todde administration nor the regional councilor for the area have made any progress on flight continuity. Continuity must be reconsidered to ensure safe, fair, and reliable connections to Northwest Sardinia." FdI calls on Todde to intervene immediately "to clarify the reasons for the cancellation, verify passenger assistance, and demand compliance with public service obligations."
