Yesterday the announcement, today the facts: this morning Silvia Ferrari returned to the Is Arutas beach 40 kilos of quartz collected in the 1970s by her mother Valeria. A seaside celebration, which the woman also wanted to celebrate with the municipal administrators of Cabras and the operators of the Sinis Marine Protected Area. It was a way to raise awareness of the phenomenon, a way to apologize. A gesture of respect for the land that takes on a strong symbolic value and contributes to spreading a greater culture of environmental protection.

"On behalf of the entire administration and the community, I would like to thank Mrs. Silvia Ferrari for understanding the value of this gesture," stated Environment Councilor Carlo Carta. "Returning the sand, even after years, by courageously taking action, means acknowledging that our natural heritage belongs to everyone and that each of us has a responsibility to protect it. We hope this story can serve as an example for those who still preserve sand or other natural elements removed from our beaches. In recent years, we have witnessed other restitution incidents, and each time they represent an important sign of growing collective environmental awareness."

A story that tells of a different way of experiencing the sea, when there was no widespread awareness of the environmental value of beaches and the protection regulations in force today did not exist.
