The flower decorators of Tortolì have begun to lay out the floral carpet with fresh flowers from Naples. The work, depicting the Madonna of Bonaria, will be ready tomorrow morning, the day of the solemn holiday for the city of Rome. The group of flower artists, made up of Simona Taula, Erica Fasone, Sandra Nieddu, Gisella Secci, Daniela Sechi and Tiziana Murru, was assigned a space in Piazza San Pietro.
The mission of the Pro loco of Tortolì, indicated by the regional Unpli to represent the island, is part of the corollary of events promoted on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the patron saints. Also present in Rome are Raffaele Sestu, president of Unpli Sardinia, and his alter ego in Ogliastra, Vittorino Murgia. Also expected is the president of the Rocce Rosse di Tortolì tourist association, Fabrizio Palmas, who will join the treasurer, Riccardo Schirru, and the coordinator, Francesco Iesu. The infiorata will be a tribute to Pope Francis.
