The heavy rainfall that hit the Nuoro area caused numerous inconveniences , leading to the activation of urgent interventions by the teams of the Nuoro Provincial Fire Brigade Command .
The bad weather caused several landslides and the formation of sinkholes on various roads in the area , putting traffic safety at risk .
One of the main interventions involved the preventive closure of the “Predu Vithi” road (formerly SS 389), which connects Nuoro to Mamoiada . The decision to close the stretch of road was taken to avoid potential dangers arising from the landslide that affected the carriageway. The heavy rains, in fact, weakened the ground, creating situations of instability that required the immediate intervention of the competent authorities. The municipal road to Ortobene was also closed at night due to a landslide.
The safety operations were timely, and the Fire Brigade worked throughout the night to monitor the situation and intervene where necessary. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but traffic remains severely compromised in some areas, and citizens are advised to avoid transit in the areas affected by the landslides.
