Four countries, a thousand children without pediatric care. It happens in four important centers of Gennargentu, Fonni, Gavoi, Lodine and Ollolai. The only alternative for emergencies is the Gavoi clinic or the pediatric emergency room of San Francesco in Nuoro.

Already four years ago the country was left without medical assistance for children. The complaint on social media by the mayor of Fonni Daniela Falconi who in a post this morning explains: «For just over 24 hours our town, together with Gavoi, Lodine and Ollolai has been (again) without a pediatrician. Nearly 1000 children will not have basic care. We thought we had come out of it in 2020, after almost two years of struggle, and after our location had finally been chosen by a good doctor. But no, back to the beginning again. And I want to say one thing to mothers, to families, "to be extremely sincere": this time it will be even more difficult. Compared to 2020, there are even fewer pediatricians available. The search to open at least one Ascot pediatric clinic so as not to interrupt the service began at least a month ago, without result. The seat is vacant and it will be extremely complicated to assign it. If necessary, you can turn to the Gavoi clinic, making an appointment, or you know better than me how and what to do. It is a serious, very serious, enormous problem. But as always we will need to be fully equipped to find a solution."
