The driver of a small car arrested by the agents of the Cagliari Flying Squad and the Investigative Section of the Central Operations Service for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing had aroused suspicion among some patrols engaged in specific services for the prevention and repression of attacks on cash-in-transit vans.

The State Police officers noticed the man, who was aboard a Fiat 500, stop near an overpass, along the State Road 131, at the height of Mogoro, and then set off again, carrying out a series of risky maneuvers.

After tailing him, the crews managed to stop the vehicle in the Quartu Sant'Elena Elena area , where the driver was subjected to a check.

During the search, the officers, already suspicious of the driver's nervousness, noticed some anomalies on the car doors, which had some plastic parts that were detached . Then a more thorough inspection allowed them to find, cleverly hidden in the cavity in the rear part of the car body, numerous packages of cocaine, equal to about 14 kilos. The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old foreign national already known to the police, was arrested. He is now in the Uta prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

The drugs were seized.
