It will still be record-breakingly hot until mid-August in Sardinia , with peaks of 40 degrees in the inland areas , but then the African heat of Charon will become a little less “hellish” over the weekend.
And while in Cagliari there is a red alert for heat waves until mid-August , with the Ministry of Health raising the alarm to level 3 for the health effects of the torrid heat, in some areas of the island the maximum temperatures could even exceed 40 degrees .
According to Arpa Sardegna forecasts, " Thursday 15 and Friday 16 August will be characterized by cloudy skies that could bring isolated precipitation, even in the form of showers or thunderstorms. Temperatures will tend to decrease. Winds will blow mainly in the form of breezes, calm during the night hours. The seas will be slightly rough, locally rough on the Sardinia Channel".
From Saturday 17 August, however, the mistral will blow , with gusts in the following days, especially in the north-east of the island, up to 80 km per hour, according to 3B Meteo forecasts.
