There's concrete help for families in need. The "Suspended Farmer's Shopping" initiative, promoted by Coldiretti Nuoro Ogliastra and Campagna Amica, is back. The initiative, once again, aims to make the farmers' market not just a place to shop, but a space for community, fellowship, and mutual support .

The Campagna Amica market, held every Wednesday, is held in the Tamuli Pavilion, located in the former Mura barracks on Viale Gramsci. The initiative is organized in collaboration with the Cultural Services Center, UniTre Macomer, and Caritas, with the support of the Municipality of Macomer and the Departments of Social Services and Culture.

This project, which Coldiretti has been pursuing for years in various areas, is being relaunched with the aim of helping combat new forms of poverty and offering concrete support to people who struggle to access healthy, quality food.

During the morning, residents shopping at the farmers' markets will be able to purchase one or more products to donate to vulnerable families.

The pavilion features seasonal fruit and vegetables, bread, cheeses, cured meats, and other locally sourced products, which will be collected by volunteers from UniTre and Caritas, who will then distribute them to the neediest individuals and families in the area.

Campagna Amica producers themselves will also contribute to the initiative by donating part of their produce.

"The suspended shopping program perfectly embodies the spirit of Campagna Amica," say Coldiretti Nuoro Ogliastra President Leonardo Salis and Director Alessandro Serra . "Our markets are places of direct sales, but above all, meeting points between producers and citizens, local outposts that strengthen the social fabric of communities. Ensuring everyone has access to healthy, local, and quality food means simultaneously supporting families, agricultural businesses, and local communities."

"Every product left in the suspended shopping basket," says Antonio Madeddu , head of Campagna Amica, "tells a story of concrete solidarity. Through a small gesture, we can bring wholesome, quality food to the tables of families in need, while also highlighting the work of farmers. It's an initiative that connects citizens, producers, and volunteers, creating a virtuous circle that benefits the entire community."
