The bathing season has now begun and with it the controls for a safe sea. In these first days of summer, the staff of the Golfo Aranci District Office and the Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo employee offices patrolled the beaches, checking swimmers, concessionaires and lifeguards, in order to ensure the safety of bathing and free use. of the state property.

The activity carried out led to the issue of administrative sanctions for a total of approximately 1,200 euros for different use of the state property, as well as a warning to remove easily removable works.

Several interventions were carried out to verify compliance with the navigation limits for pleasure craft, with checks in the area of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, in particular in the waters off the island of Mortorio, to enforce the protection regulations. of the integral reserve area, where navigation, stopping and anchoring are not allowed (at a distance of less than 300 meters from the coast), bathing, fishing and anything that could cause damage to the marine environment. The patrol at sea also involved the entire coast of Golfo Aranci and Cala Moresca.

The nautical vessels engaged in surveillance at sea have raised penalties for a total of about 3,900 euros against boaters for failure to comply with the minimum distance from the coast and from the waters off-limits to navigation.
