«I am satisfied that the Government has approved the motion that I presented in favor of opening the Academy of Fine Arts also in the city of Cagliari, enhancing the work of the 'Foiso Fois' Art School with the existing collaboration of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari».
Salvatore Deidda, Fdi deputy and president of the IX Transport, Post and Telecommunications commission, states: «I have supported this project since the last legislature and the previous executives had also approved my proposals, so much so that the project seemed to materialize with the municipal administration led by mayor Paolo Truzzu. We didn't have time, but also thanks to the Fdi group leader Pierluigi Mannino and colleagues of the group we have re-proposed the issue in the Cagliari city council and now in Parliament, with the government giving its favorable opinion».
And he adds: «The institution would allow us to respond to the ever-increasing demand for high artistic education coming from students of art high schools residing in the south of Sardinia, thus avoiding the emigration of the same students to other cities and/or the abandonment of their artistic careers, also due to the high costs resulting from the possible transfer to other locations».
