"Freemmos - Liberi di soggiorno" will kick off on Saturday, a project born in 2017 on the initiative of the Maria Carta Foundation that aims to raise awareness among politicians, local administrators and also citizens about the phenomenon of depopulation of small towns, but not only, in Sardinia. The first stop in 2025 will be in Ales, where from 6:30 pm in the conference room of the town hall the civic administration is organizing a meeting-debate on depopulation in collaboration with the Maria Carta Foundation. The Freemmos formula has been confirmed, which sees a moment of reflection alongside a musical show.
After the greetings of the mayor Francesco Mereu, Leonardo Marras, president of the Maria Carta Foundation, will present the Freemmos project. The testimonies will follow, starting with that of Daniela Falconi, president of Anci Sardegna, the association of municipalities, who has the correct perception of the problems affecting Sardinian municipalities, especially those at risk of depopulation. Among the guests also Maurizio Malloci, director of Forestas, Bastianino Casu, regional president of Confcommercio, and Bastianino Mossa, president of Fasi, the Federation of Sardinian Clubs in Italy. The administrators of the territory will be present. The musical show will conclude, from 8:30 pm, in the square in front of the cathedral. The protagonists will be Beppe Dettori and Giovannino Porcheddu, the duo Fantafolk (Andrea Pisu and Vanni Masala), Manuela Ragusa and Mario Pierno, the guitarist Ignazio Cadeddu, Syncopated City and Vanessa Denanni and the singer-songwriter Andrea Andrillo. The debate and musical evening will be conducted by Giacomo Serreli.
