The life of a passenger on a flight from Cagliari to Milan Linate, who had lost consciousness during the journey, was saved. It happened last Sunday, in the middle of the cruise phase on Aeroitalia flight XZ2350: the crew, immediately informed by the flight attendant, activated the emergency protocol.
Two doctors responded to the call, immediately offering their help. Having assessed the seriousness of the situation, they requested the use of the AED defibrillator on board . The prompt intervention, combined with the professionalism of the two doctors, saved the passenger's life: he was successfully resuscitated, stabilized and kept under observation for the rest of the flight, now close to destination.
Once the plane landed, thanks also to the cooperation of all passengers on board, the medical operations were completed. Although still exhausted and on a stretcher, the passenger personally thanked the crew and the two doctors for having, as he himself declared, "saved his life" .
"We are extremely proud of the behavior of the entire crew," said Commander Simone Cavacece. "At times like these, the importance of training, readiness and teamwork emerges. Everything possible was done, in the best possible way. I sincerely thank the doctors on board, our cabin and all the passengers ."
