New round of checks by the Forestry Corps against illegal camping in Sardinia.

Over the past weekend, the localities of Spiaggia delle Saline, Marina Maria, Li Cuncheddi and Porto Vitello in the Municipality of Olbia, those of Cala Pischina and Rena di Matteu in the Municipality of Aglientu , as well as the locality Cala degli Inglesi in the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park were checked.

The control involved the coastal departments coordinated by the Tempio Pausania Stir, for a total of 22 operational units that worked from the early hours of the morning until late evening.

The Naval Operational Logistics Bases (BLON) of Olbia and Palau and the Forestry Station of La Maddalena have contested a total of 9 violations to tourists of Dutch, German, French and Italian nationality, who were camping illegally with caravans positioned on the beach, in the pine forests and in state-owned areas.

During the summer period – as stated in a note from the Forestry Corps – «an intensification of controls is expected in all coastal areas».
