This morning, a 30-year-old resident of the city, already under house arrest, was arrested by the Carabinieri in Iglesias on charges of escape.

According to the Carabinieri, during a routine check to verify compliance with the requirements imposed by the judicial authorities, the officers confirmed that the man was not at his home in the city center.

A search was immediately launched in the surrounding streets, which allowed the military to track down the thirty-year-old shortly thereafter as he was walking through the streets of Iglesias.

Once the incident was reconstructed, the man was taken to the police station for the usual procedures and then returned to his home, where he will remain pending the immediate hearing ordered by the judicial authorities.
