The human remains found in the nets of the Perla Nera fishing vessel in Golfo Aranci at the end of May belong to one of the Deiana brothers, who disappeared at sea on April 19, 2025. The investigation, led by prosecutor Sara Martino, and DNA testing have confirmed the information that emerged immediately after the recovery in the waters of Figarolo was reported.

And according to rumors, the remains are believed to be those of Giuseppe Deiana, the eldest of the brothers who disappeared during a fishing trip. Human remains and clothing ended up in the net of the Perla Nera fishing vessel. Tempio Pausania magistrates were reportedly informed, in the conditional tense, that the DNA extracted from the samples taken by the forensic police is believed to be that of Giuseppe, while the clothing (certainly a jacket) is the same as that worn by Lorenzo Deiana. The family of the two Olbia brothers, represented by lawyer Pietro Cherchi, is not officially aware of the results of the DNA tests.

Contacted yesterday, lawyer Pietro Cherchi asked for respect for his clients. This uncertainty adds to an agonizing wait that has lasted more than a year. In recent days, the Olbia Maritime Directorate was notified of the discovery of bones in the net of a fishing boat, also in Golfo Aranci. These bones may be the remains of a skull and several vertebrae. All necessary investigations have been initiated in this case as well. At this time, no connection to the activities related to the disappearance of Giuseppe and Lorenzo Deiana is possible.
