Was there a near disaster at the Serra Lurdagu overhead reservoir ?

This is the question residents of the Lotto B district in Carbonia are asking themselves upon learning news that until yesterday was unknown to half the district: a gigantic sinkhole has opened up at the foot of the gigantic public reservoir that overlooks the neighborhood, forcing workers to quickly empty it to prevent the structure's collapse.

The reservoir contained approximately 1,500 cubic meters of water , a collapse would have caused a disaster.
