According to forecasts, the next 10 days will be warm without excesses: temperatures will fluctuate between 34 and 35 degrees, with possible peaks of 37-38 degrees in Sardinia .

"Nothing to do with the 48 degrees recorded on the island last week" , says Bernardo Gozzini, director of the Lamma-Cnr Consortium, who underlines how the lowering of temperatures is due to the weakening of the African anticyclone following the influx of Atlantic currents that first flowed into Northern Italy, and then also to the South.

«The cold air from the North Atlantic - explains Gozzini - caused the collapse of the anti-cyclonic promontory which is set back on the northern part of the African continent. In practice, this area of high pressure has flattened over North Africa and part of the Mediterranean basin".

The benefits of the arrival of fresh air, according to the climatologist, are not only the lowering of temperatures, but also a decrease in humidity thanks to the mistral winds.

"Finally - notes Gozzini - the nocturnal values will drop below 20 degrees, and we will begin to be able to rest". On the horizon, in addition to lower temperatures, we also do not see major instabilities. "The next few days - he concludes - seem 'tranquil' days from a meteorological point of view, with possible short-term phenomena relegated to the Po Valley and the Alps".
