In Sardinia, after a brief respite, scorching heat is returning. The Civil Protection Department has issued a severe weather warning for August 27th and 28th, predicting exceptionally high temperatures across much of the island.

Tomorrow, temperatures will exceed 37 degrees Celsius in the western sector, particularly in the northern part. The day after tomorrow, however, the heat will mainly affect the southern and eastern sectors, with peaks above 40 degrees Celsius in the Lower Campidano and along the eastern coast. Minimum temperatures, which will settle around 25 degrees Celsius, will affect coastal and subcoastal areas.

The change in temperatures is driven by high pressure from Africa, favored by the entry of a low pressure system over Spain. Sardinia will therefore experience intense heat, with high temperatures even at high altitudes, which suggests muggy or hot days even at sea level.
