Healthcare, Todde: «A “functional” reform in four points is ready, it is the real emergency»
The governor: «If you ask a Sardinian if health is more important than the budget, the answer is obvious»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The Budget can wait. "If I were to ask any Sardinian whether they are more interested in us extending the provisional exercise by two months or in us re-starting healthcare, the answer is obvious." This was stated by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde on the sidelines of a meeting with the administration staff. In short, first of all the Regional Council must examine a text for the reorganization of the regional healthcare system.
We start from the one approved by the Council weeks ago and deemed insufficient by all the majority forces. What the Council has to propose again will be added through a maxi amendment, probably directly in committee. "The path must be shared, but we are working to speed it up as much as possible", explained the governor. What will the maxi amendment contain? "We have very clear ideas, which can be summarized in four fundamental points". First of all, "we must give hospitals a mission. They cannot do everything but must specialize in excellence". Secondly, "we must tackle contexts that have been neglected for a long time: prevention, mental health and rehabilitation. Issues that see different protocols in each ASL and discretionary care. This must end". Third, "the world of emergency urgency must be transformed". Last point: "We must reinvest in our children. We have a context of excellence which is the Microcitemico, if we demonstrate that we can take care of children we give dignity to an entire sector made up of professionals".
Note that Todde speaks of a "functional reform". But during the election campaign he always said he did not want to bring about a reform.
The president announced that she will ask her majority for an act of responsibility: "We have a budget and a regional development plan to present, but first of all we must address the issues related to health". If this acceleration comes to fruition, it will mean that the requests of the Democratic Party, the largest party in the coalition, which emerged during the management meeting two weeks ago, have had an effect . On that occasion, the Democratic Party also illustrated a proposal through the voice of the president of the sixth commission Carla Fundoni. There are some points in common between this and the governor's. In both cases, there is talk of the need to assign a different mission to all hospitals, "because not everyone can do everything", of the need to intervene in rehabilitation and territorial health.
