There are no tourist medical services in Cannigione and Porto Cervo , and with summer now upon us, the state of health services in Gallura is once again at the center of debate. The issue was raised by regional councilor Cristina Usai of the Brothers of Italy party , who submitted an urgent written question denouncing the critical issues in the area.

"It's forbidden to feel ill in Gallura. There's a risk of death due to the lack of adequate facilities to accommodate residents and tourists ," states Usai. In recent months, the Arzachena City Council has repeatedly highlighted the difficulties of the outpatient clinic and the Spoke Community Center, but has received no concrete response from the Region. "The classification of the Arzachena Community Center from Spoke to Hub must be revised, taking into account the number of residents, the municipality's strategic location, the distance from other facilities, and the extremely high seasonal tourist influx," states the regional councilor. "The residents of Arzachena and the coastal area cannot be forced to turn to distant facilities or private healthcare providers to obtain essential healthcare services. The tourist medical services in Cannigione and Porto Cervo must be immediately reactivated."

Furthermore, according to USAI, "cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, gynecology, and orthopedics are currently lacking or insufficient in the Arzachena health center for residents only. I can't imagine the desperation of healthcare workers with the summer season now upon us." Finally, the Fratelli d'Italia representative appealed to the regional president: "President Todde either doesn't realize, or is pretending not to, the collapse into which Gallura has fallen. We need a more structured and functional hospital."
