«After more than 20 years of waiting, we have achieved a historic result on the equalization of salaries for doctors, technical-administrative staff and nurses working in the various ASL of Sardinia».

Thus the governor of Sardinia Alessandra Todde , in a post on Facebook, to announce the green light from her council to the resolution which – she explains – «identifies the criteria for the distribution of funds in order to reduce the pay gap» in the health professions.

"It is - explains Todde - a total of 25 million euros. In addition to the 10 million euros already allocated, the fund has been increased by 15 million starting in 2024. The proposals for identifying the criteria and methods of calculating the distribution of resources were shared in a series of meetings with the trade unions. With this resolution - continues the President of the Region - we are correcting an injustice and restoring dignity to many workers".

"We are extending - Todde adds regarding the decisions taken in the last council meeting regarding healthcare - for the time necessary to complete new procedures for the assignment of primary care and continuity of care locations during 2025 and the measures relating to the temporary employment of retired doctors in territories where basic care and continuity of care are not guaranteed to citizens due to a shortage of doctors".

Among the other resolutions adopted, the one to establish the Regional Anti-Violence Network in Sardinia , the Regional Commission for Strokes in Sardinia and the one to give the green light to the new framework of interventions - over 88 million euros - within the Regional Development Fund "for the completion and modernization of the territorial social-health network and the renewal of hospital equipment".
