Healthcare meeting in Cagliari, where Cgil, Cisl and Uil of the Public Administration organized a sit-in in front of the Government Representation, in Piazza del Carmine.

The objective of the protest - which took place simultaneously in numerous Italian squares - is to obtain more resources for female workers who in recent years, in difficult conditions, have guaranteed essential services to citizens.

"In Sardinia we need immediate recruitment and the stabilization of all precarious workers. The staff are not adequate to face the pandemic queue and, at the same time, to recover the many services blocked in the two years of emergency, the length of waiting lists continues to to be a shameful reality - explains the general secretary of Uil Fpl Sardinia Fulvia Murru - It is necessary that other resources be made available to encourage staff and to pay for the many overtime hours accumulated in the emergency period ".

"The staff is by now exhausted and demoralized - Murru insists -. We will not stop and we intend to call everyone to their own responsibilities. If we have reached the current situation it is because in recent years there has not been adequate planning. We must ensure that whoever has these responsibilities does not repeat similar errors ”.

"If you are aware of this and if you understand that resources are a fundamental issue - concludes the trade unionist - you need to really invest in personnel and in new technologies to provide fast, effective and quality services to all Sardinian citizens".
