On January 28, he had lost control of his off-road vehicle, crashing into some cars parked in the Cagliari district of Pirri and causing extensive damage.
Instead of stopping, however, he had restarted, disappearing. The agents of the local police of Cagliari have now managed to track him down, after days of investigation, and to hold him accountable. The driver was then fined for a long series of infractions.
The images from the cameras and the fragments found during the surveys by the brigade at the scene of the accident are decisive for tracing the person responsible.
«In the year 2022 alone - explains the local police command of Cagliari - 63 people were sanctioned for not having complied with the obligations imposed by the highway code in the event of an accident. In 16 cases the drivers were reported to the Prosecutor of the Republic of the Court of Cagliari as the omissions had been made following a road accident with injuries, therefore they concerned an escape and lack of assistance to injured people. This type of behavior, in addition to being reprehensible from a moral point of view, causes enormous damage to those who suffer the damage as they do not have the elements to obtain the right compensation".
