While collecting firewood in the Catala countryside in Calangianus, he lost his bearings and was no longer able to return to the car.

The 82-year-old, who lives in the village, was found by the Tempio Pausania firefighters. The brother of the elderly man who was with him and who lost track of him around 7.30pm yesterday alerted the firefighters and started the search.

With the darkness and the temperatures falling, the man immediately called the firefighters who reached the scene assisted by the dog unit of the Sassari Command. After searching the area, thanks to the scent of the dog Kimba from the canine unit, the 82-year-old was found. He was disoriented but in good health, and was entrusted to the care of 118 personnel. The police were also following the search activities.
