Absolved , because the fact does not exist . The mayor of Cagliari, Paolo Truzzu , was acquitted by the judge of the Court, Alessandra Tedde, from the charge of defamation .
The mayor had challenged a penal decree linked to a proceeding born of a post he had published on social media when he was still a regional councilor of FdI . Defended by the lawyer Salvatore Sirigu, the mayor had to answer for a sentence written on Facebook in 2016, when the Municipality of Quartu had called as a speaker on the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Foibe - which coincidentally falls today, the day of the sentence - " a homosexual director ” (in reference to Jo Coda).
The mayor had immediately specified that he did not want to be offensive , but the lawsuit had then generated a penal decree which was contested .
The director had filed a civil action with the lawyer Gian Mario Sechi .
The reasons for the sentence will be filed within ninety days .
