Caught while attempting to steal some work tools stored inside a parked car , he allegedly reacted by throwing a circular saw at the vehicle's owner. For this reason, a 54-year-old unemployed man , already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of improper robbery .
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in Quartu Sant'Elena. According to the reconstruction of the incident by members of the Carabinieri's Mobile Radio Unit, the man allegedly broke into a car parked in the city center to steal the tools stored inside. The owner of the vehicle, however, noticed what was happening and intervened, catching the 54-year-old in the act. At that point, the man allegedly reacted violently, throwing a circular saw he had just taken from the passenger compartment at the victim.
Despite the attack, the car owner, aided by several passersby, managed to subdue the man and hold him until the Carabinieri arrived, who arrested the alleged perpetrator. After completing the formal procedures, the 54-year-old was placed under house arrest.
