A Sassari criminal has been arrested, believed to be responsible for a series of robberies and thefts against commercial businesses in the city, actions committed with a hammer .

According to the Flying Squad's reconstruction, the man stole money, cartons of cigarettes, and other valuables. The young man used a stolen scooter to get around , keeping his face hidden by a motorcycle helmet and a handkerchief.

Among the businesses hit , he allegedly threatened the owners with a hammer.

State Police investigations led to the identification of the motorcycle's hiding place in the Sassari countryside. Officers feared the vehicle was being used for other crimes, so they set up a surveillance unit. The young man was stopped and arrested just as he suspiciously approached the scooter to retrieve it . He resisted, striking two workers with his helmet, causing injuries that would take seven days to heal. The hammer used in the robberies was found in the motorcycle's trunk. The suspect is currently in Bancali prison.
