"No conviction" : this is one of the weighty assessments made by the defense in the appeal documents against the Tempio Pausania judges' decision in the Grillo case.

According to rumours, in the last few hours Ciro Grillo's lawyers, Francesco Corsiglia, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria have filed documents formalising their appeals against last September's sentence (eight years for Ciro Grillo – son of the founder of the 5 Star Movement Beppe -, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria, six and a half years for Francesco Corsiglia) .

Prosecutor Gregorio Capasso had requested a nine-year prison sentence for the four young men accused of gang rape of a girl their own age, incidents that occurred in Porto Cervo in the summer of 2019.

According to rumors, the defense has requested that the sentence be annulled because the judges failed to consider the defendants' arguments. Among other issues in the appeal is the credibility of the alleged rape victim.

The defenders are Enrico Grillo, Andrea Vernazza, Alessandro Vaccaro, Ernesto Monteverde and Mariano Mameli for Grillo, Capitta and Lauria, Antonella Cuccureddu for Corsiglia.
