There are no defendants in the Grillo trial in the courtroom today, this is the choice of Ciro Grillo, Vittorio Lauria, Edoardo Capitta and Francesco Corsiglia, all accused of group sexual violence for the events that occurred in Porto Cervo in the summer of 2019.
The decision on the presence of the four boys in the courtroom of the Tempio courthouse to attend the hearing but above all to be subjected to examination is linked to delicate aspects of defensive strategy. According to rumours, the person who seems inclined not to speak in front of the judges is Ciro Grillo, but there is no certainty for the other boys either.
Today the panel of the Tempio Court, chaired by magistrate Marco Contu, listens to the consultants of the civil party (the victim of the alleged rape is a student from Milan) who will explain, among other things, the reasons for the many inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the victim's story in the classroom. Furthermore, the civil party (lawyers Giulia Bongiorno and Dario Romano) will try to demonstrate, with the results of a specific study on the effects of alcoholic beverages, that the victim was overwhelmed because she was completely drunk.
At the request of the defense, the panel decided to review the video of the alleged rape. The psychiatrist, who is a consultant for the civil party, claimed that in the images the passive condition of the young woman can be clearly seen, an element which would confirm the violence. The defense then asked to view the video in question, obtaining the judge's green light.
