"A girl of extraordinary sensitivity and empathy." Rossella Marongiu, 25, from Serramanna, worked as a nurse in the Medicine department of Brotzu. And that's where she was headed, Saturday morning. She was going to work, when her Lancia Y ended up off the road on Provincial Road 56 between Samassi and Serrenti: the car overturned several times, stopping thirty meters away, in an artichoke field. Rossella was unconscious: she had suffered a head trauma that would lead to her death, 36 hours later, in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit where she was supposed to show up to assist patients, as a nurse.

A tragedy that shocked the communities to which the girl was very close. That of Brotzu, where colleagues had learned to know a prepared and caring professional. That of Samassi, where she had landed in the last period. And that of Serramanna, where she was born and raised.

"On behalf of the community , I express our deepest sorrow and enormous sadness for the passing of Rossella," wrote the mayor of Serramanna, Gabriele Littera, who continued: "My condolences and those of the entire municipal administration go to her family and all her loved ones.

We are incredulous that another young life from Serramanna, with a bright future, committed daily to taking care of others with his daily work, has left us."
