Wild fires on the beach of Cala Moresca, Capo Figari nature reserve in Golfo Aranci: last night, five people landed on the small beach to have a night barbecue. Hosted by a boat anchored in the bay, the group of friends reached the coast with a tender dinghy for an outdoor barbecue.

In defiance of the rules that prohibit the lighting of fires on beaches and in wooded areas, the five lit a bonfire in the inlet that falls within the Site of Community Importance for the naturalistic treasures it preserves. The Maremosso citizens' committee reported the incident and immediately notified the competent authorities: the port authority, the local police and the Golfo Aranci barracellare company intervened to put out the bonfire and fined the offenders.

«The date of June 24, 2013 is still fresh in the memory of the Golfarancini, when a vast fire burned down over two hundred hectares of woodland at Capo Figari and Monte Ruju, an area of great environmental value classified as a SIC zone», commented Maremosso.
