At Sa Manifattura, in Viale Regina Margherita in Cagliari, the immersive exhibition “Luigi” turned out to be one of the most intense and touching experiences of the Gigi Riva Football Week, a true gem that won the hearts of visitors. With an intimate and deeply introspective key, the artistic director Giorgio Pitzianti surprised everyone, giving a unique portrait of Gigi Riva, through the child Luigi . Objects, texts, lights, images, music and sounds intertwine in an emotional journey that leads the visitor on a journey beyond sporting feats, to discover the truest soul of Gigi, arousing reflections that touch personal and profound chords.

This tribute does not limit itself to celebrating the champion: it is an immersion in the moments of suffering and resilience that marked Riva's life . It is the story of a boy from Leggiuno, who arrived in Cagliari at just 18 years old, full of wounds and a desire for redemption that led him to give up everything in order to give his mother the satisfaction he would have wanted to give her. The visitor thus finds himself sharing a journey of fragility and strength, of hope and tenacity, bonding with the champion in an intimate and universal connection. At the end of the journey, the tears and emotion of the visitors are the tangible sign of the strength of this story that continues to inspire .

"I didn't want to advertise this exhibition because I wanted to create an intimate connection with the visitor, but today, seeing hundreds of people moved, I was surprised too ," says the Sardinian creative, who gave Sardinia a week of emotions between nostalgia and celebration.

With word of mouth spreading and a short break only for the Cagliari-Milan match, the last day of the exhibition promises to be crowded, with many visitors eager to experience this surprising intimate journey, like a final farewell that never wants to end.

The immersive exhibition “Luigi” will be open at the Manifattura Tabacchi until Sunday 10 November, with continuous hours from 10 am to 8 pm, in the contemporary room of the Opificio Innova spaces, on the first floor .
