The heartfelt cry for help from mother Maria Lidia Pistis did not go unheard .
President Sergio Mattarella received the letter that the mother of Giacomo Solinas, the boy who disappeared from Gonnesa in 2023, wrote to him a few weeks ago and passed it on to the Prefect of Cagliari, who met with the Solinas family on Friday.
"We are proud of this attention from the President of the Republic, to whom we turned to express all our anguish as parents who have been without news of their son for two years," says Maria Lidia Pistis. "The meeting with the Prefect was productive: he proved very sensitive to what we are going through and assured us that next week, DNA samples will be taken from Giacomo's personal effects so that they can be entered into the databases and made available for comparison. This is a crucial step, one we requested and which will finally be accomplished."
